Rev. Carlos Calderon, SENIOR PASTOR

Pastor Carlos was born in El Salvador in 1974. He lived there until the age of 12 at which time his parents felt it would be best to move somewhere safer do to the severity of the civil war. Mid 1986 Pastor Carlos and his family began their journey to Canada. His family spent six months in Mexico while they waited to be accepted as landed immigrants. It was on January 1987 that they finally made their way to Canada and spent the better part of 1987 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Later that year they moved to Hamilton, Ontario making it their home for the next 12 years. It was during their time in Hamilton that Pastor Carlos met his wife Tammy at the young age of 11. They became friends and began dating when Tammy turned 16. They dated for 5 years, got engaged in their last year of college and tied the knot in the fall 1998.  After much consideration, Pastor Carlos and Tammy felt it would be best to build their life in Alberta. They moved to Drumheller, Alberta in 1999 not knowing how much their lives would change.  Y2K proved to be a life changing year for the family, it was then that God took hold of them and began to soften their hearts. One by one family members dropped to their knees asking Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. It began with Pastor Carlos’ Dad Elisandro, it was followed by his brother Vladimir, next was his mom Transito and on November 1, 2000 Pastor Carlos walked into the church of the Nazarene for the first time and gave his life to Christ.  On their way home from Carlos surrendering his life to Christ, Tammy shared that she had felt something that she could not explain. She asked to speak with the Pastor the next day and 24 hours later, Tammy also gave her life to the Lord. Since 2000, Pastor Carlos and His family have been serving the Lord in many different ways. Pastor Carlos began his ministry track in 2006 and was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene on June 2012. He has served as Interim Pastor, Associate Pastor and now serves the Drumheller Church of the Nazarene as Lead Pastor. Tammy currently serves as the Kidztown Director, she is also part of the SDMI council and Worship. They have three kids who are also involved in ministry.  Bailey, serves in the Kidztown Ministry and plays the Drums for the Youth Worship Team. Zachary serves in Kidztown Ministries and loves to act in church plays. Gabriella also serves in the Kidztown Ministries and is looking forward to serving in other ministries as she gets older.

The Calderon Family love the Drumheller Church of The Nazarene. “When we came to the church we were shown the Love of God. The people took us in and loved us. They invited us to be a part of a great family, the family of God.”  They would like to invite you to experience the same Love and Care they have experience throughout the years in Drumheller Church of the Nazarene.
