Note From Lead Pastor Glenn
Reeder

Pastor Glenn was born and raised in
Hamilton, Ontario. He invited Jesus into his heart as a young child
at the Hamilton First Church of the Nazarene. While a student in
college he became aware of his need to surrender to the Lordship of
Jesus and welcomed the deeper cleansing of his life by the Holy
Spirit. He received his Bachelor of Theology at Canadian Nazarene
College in Winnipeg and the Master of Divinity Degree from Nazarene
Theological Seminary in Kansas City. Since graduating in 1979 he and
Dorothy have pastored Nazarene congregations in Pickering,
Cambridge, and Brantford (Youth Pastor), Ontario; and in Summerside,
Prince Edward Island. They are now excited to begin ministry in
Drumheller as they partner with our Church in reaching our
community.
Glenn and Dorothy were married in Toronto
in 1975 and have two children, Julia and Luke. Julia and Richard
were married in 2003 and now make Cochrane their home with their
daughters Caydence and Bronwynn. Luke currently teaches English in
South Korea.
Pastor Glenn has a caring heart for
everyone he encounters. One of his passions in ministry is for the
youth of our community. His desire for young people is not just to
encounter them on a social level but to challenge them toward Christ
- likeness. He anticipates the great youth centre of our facilities
to be an effective tool in seeing those desires become reality.
Dorothy ’s
ministry passion is in children’s
ministry. Their passions do not exclude reaching out to all
generations, as they both enjoy using the gift of hospitality, and
love to make people of all ages feel at home wherever they are.
Pastor Glenn recognizes the potential in every person to fulfill
their God-given purpose of service through a life that is
surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus. He is excited to see what God
has in store for us as we follow God's leading.

Note From Discipleship Pastor
Carlos Calderon
My
name is Carlos Calderon I was born in El Salvador on July 4th,
1974. We lived in the city of huguayuha, El Salvador and attended a
catholic school.
At the age of twelve as I was walking from school to my
aunts corner store an army solder said to me “You are lucky boy, if
you were not wearing your school uniform I would take you in right
now, you’re of perfect size to carry a machine gun.” My parents
became very concern with the safety status in the country; they
decided that it would be best for our family to move to a safer
country.
January 17th,
1987 was the day that Canada became our new home. It was exiting but
devastating at the same time. I remember feeling empty as the
airplane took off.
Upon arriving in Canada we lived in Medicine Hat, Alberta
for about a year at which time we moved to Hamilton, Ontario. This
is where I met my wife, I was almost fourteen, she was my cousin’s
best friend, and although there was a bit of a language barrier it
did not stop us from liking each other.
I graduated in 1998, two weeks before
graduation I started working at a garage.
Tammy and I were married on October 3, 1998 in Dundas, Ontario. She
also graduated from nursing school, but was not able to find a job.
She kept working as a coffee shop waitress.
With our first child on the way, we agreed that it would be
best to look for a better place and Alberta was the solution, on
July 1, 1999 we moved to Drumheller, Alberta; this is where GOD put
his plan for us into effect. God showed us that nothing is
impossible for Him, first he change my Dad, then it was my Brother,
then my Mom.
After seeing how two men that could not
sit at the same table without fighting, come together, laugh, read,
talk, all because of Jesus Christ, well; curiosity killed the cat.
My wife and I began to read the bible, had our disagreements about
it, but we saw that many things spoke directly to us.
How is it possible that
it can hit the sweet spots in all areas of our life?
I had many questions but no answers
until I came to the book of Romans, there I found why I was
detestable in the eyes of God, why I was not able to do the things I
wanted to do but always doing the things I didn’t want to do. This
is where I realize that God was talking to me through the bible; he
wanted me to have a personal relationship with Him.
The next day I met with
the pastor from the church of the Nazarene my whole family was there
in support. Afterwards when we were on our way home my wife said I
felt something while I was there, I don’t know what it was but, I’d
like to talk to the pastor about it” twenty four hours later GOD
kept his first promise by softening my wife heart, she gave herself
up and asked Jesus to be her personal savior.
We have been attending the Drumheller Church of the Nazarene
since 2000, as God has given us wisdom we have become more and more
involved in the church, my wife currently leads Kidztown and serves
as care group leaders, I am currently servings as a volunteer
Assosiate Pastor, leading in the discipleship ministries, Youth
ministries and Adult ministries. Moreover, we are looking ahead to
what God’s wisdom has in store for us.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all!
